I produce non-fiction photographs depicting the built environment of American places and the signs and symbols therein. This is a broad sphere of investigation which includes cultural landscapes, transportation infrastructure, geographical features, administrative delineations, architecture, and other assorted artifacts. The places we create for ourselves can be read like disorganized, unedited texts. My role involves interpreting these layers of meaning, selecting appropriately with the aim of distilling the important themes.
